Ski Insurance

Ski insurance is arranged for us by Holiday Extras Ltd and underwritten by AXA General Insurance Ltd, a member of the Association of British Insurers. It includes sections specific to skiing holidays. This offered to all our clients and if the premium is paid at the time of booking then you are covered for cancellation or curtailment of your holiday.

Claims
It is a condition of the policy that all material facts are disclosed. Failure to do this may affect your rights under the terms of the policy. This includes any reason why your trip might be cancelled or curtailed, receiving or waiting for treatment as hospital in-patient, travelling against medical advice or without obtaining medical clearance.
Exclusions
Main ones are as follows:
- Loss or damage to your ski equipment if it is over 5 years old
- Loss or damage to hired equipment unless you have a receipt from the hire shop
- Losses not reported to the police in 24 hours and confirmed by written report
- The first 24 hours of piste closure
- Piste closure if not all skiing facilities are fully closed
- Self exposure to needless peril; ski-racing, off piste skiing without a guide or instructor; ski-jumping; ice hockey; heliskiing; the use of bob-sleighs, skeletons, ski-doo or snowbike
Important conditions
You will not be covered in the following circumstances:
- If you have consulted a doctor or received in-patient treatment for an on-going medical condition in the last 12 months, UNLESS you have doctors permission to travel.
- If you have a terminal illness
- If you are travelling to get medical treatment abroad
- If you are expecting to give birth before you arrive home or within eight weeks of arriving home.
- If you cancel your holiday to go into hospital as an in-patient if you were on a waiting list for that in-patient treatment when this insurance was issued.
- If you have been previously refused travel insurance.
- If you have not lived in the UK for a continuous period of at least 12 months and are not registered with a UK doctor before the insurance was issued.
- If you are 70 or over and purchasing an annual multi-trip policy.
- If you are taking a one way trip.
